Last night the Lady Gophers were defeated by Cory Rawson in three games: 22-25/ 10-25/ 14-25 Leading in scorers with points were: Jocelynn Schwartz with 7 points, Morgann Mercer with 5 points, Sam Smith with 3 points, Leading in kills: Sam Smith with 14, Paige Guenther with 6 kills. Kelsey Seiler added 8 assists. Sam Smith had 3 stuff blocks and Paige Guenther had 3 stuff blocks. We played awesome the first the game and our intensity level was great. They just happen to get by us the first game. The last two we had to many unforced errors. We still need to work on making teams earn their points. They played with good effort and hustled hard. This match was the last home match for 4 seniors and we would like to thank them for their dedication to the volleyball program: Sam Smith, Kelsey Seiler, Katie Copp, and Danielle Weaver. Tonight we play Lima Temple in our first tournament match at USV starting at 6:15.
