Last night the Gophers were defeated in 5 by Kenton: 11-25, 12-25, 25-20, 26-24, 14-16, Kenton took the first, second and last game. Leading point scorers for Ridgemont were on serves: Morgann Merecer/ 27, Kelsey Seiler/ 17, Sam Smith/ 16, Courtney Cobb/ 11, Paige Guenther/ 9, Katie Copp/8, Leading in hitting with kills: Sam Smith with 7 and Paige Guenther with 6 Blocks were Paige Guenther 5 and Sam Smith with 4. Overall I was proud with the effort of the match. I was pleased that we didn't give up and battled back till the last match. Both teams played hard and worked for every point earned in the games. I am happy with the way girls responded and battled and I hope that with each game we continue to grow and play to our abilities from the start of game one. Ridgemont will play on Thursday at LTC, this will be a varsity only game. The game will start at 6.
